Douglas Murray suspended for three games
April 4 , 2014
One of the Tampa Bay Lightening's defensemen got injured during a game against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. However, the Canadiens are now losing one of theirs for injuring Michael Kostka.
Douglas Murray has been suspended by the league for three games since he illegally hit a player's head.
The defenseman received a match penalty for hitting Kostka three minutes before the third period ended. "While we accept Murray's claim that there was no malicious intent on this hit, he is not successful in making a full-body check," the Department of Player Safety said. "Instead, Murray ends up picking the head with an extended arm."
