Cricket World Cup: Australia thrash India by 95 runs, cruise to finals
March 26 , 2015
Australia reached the finals of ICC Cricket World Cup with a comprehensive 95-run victory over India in the second semi-final.
Electing to bat first, the Aussies scored an imposing total of 328, powered by a Steven Smith century.
It was always going to be a daunting target to chase, but Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started positively. However, with Dhawan caught for 45 and Virat Kohli departing for 1, India’s hopes were dashed.
Despite a valiant 65 by skipper MS Dhoni, India couldn't score more than 233.
