Baltimore Ravens beat San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl

  • The Baltimore Ravens staved off a furious comeback attempt by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday to secure a 34-31 victory in a thrilling Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.

    Joe Flacco threw three touchdown passes to take his team to a 21-6 halftime lead and finished with 287 yards and no turnovers on a 22-of-33 passing to earn Most Valuable Player honors and lead the Ravens to their second Super Bowl win in franchise history.

    The game featured the first brother versus brother coaching matchup in Super Bowl history, with Harbaugh beating younger sibling and 49ers sideline boss Jim Harbaugh, the final game of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis' 17-year career along with an unexpected 34-minute delay in the third quarter caused by a power outage in the Superdome.
