Atlanta Falcons' Michael Turner jailed for drunk-driving and speeding

  • Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner was jailed on charges of drunk-driving and speeding on Tuesday, just hours after he scored a touchdown in the team's win against the Denver Broncos.

The 30-year-old was booked into Gwinnett County Jail in Atlanta just after 5am.

He spent just under two hours behind bars before he was released on $2,179 bond.

Police issued Turner a traffic ticket for driving at 97mph in a 65mph zone.

Turner and the Falcons celebrated a 27-21 home victory over the Denver Broncos earlier in the day. Turner scored the first touchdown for his team in the first quarter.

It was Turner's 51st touchdown for the Falcons, whom he joined in 2008 after four seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
