Anand loses battle of nerves against Carlsen
November 24 , 2014
Viswanathan Anand lost the battle of nerves and Game 11 of the World Chess Championship to Norway’s Magnus Carlsen, the latter retaining his crown, media reports say.
Anand later said his surprising move in the game was a “bad gamble,” and he wasn’t thinking clearly. The 44-year-old Indian challenger agreed that Carlsen was a “much superior player” and “his nerves held up much better.”
Carlsen said it was “a huge relief” to not come back for the 12th game.
