YouTube entrepreneur in copyright muddle
July 23 , 2014
Michelle Phan, a YouTube entrepreneur, is facing legal trouble for alleged copyright violations.
Ultra Records and its publishing wing claim that Phan used around 50 of their songs in her videos on YouTube and on her website without permission, according to media reports.
However, Kaskade, one of the prominent musicians whose work she has been accused of using, supported Phan, saying that copyright law “is a dinosaur, ill-suited for the landscape of today's media.”
