'Transformers' sets Chinese box office on fire
July 9 , 2014
Hollywood film Transformers: Age of Extinction has become the biggest box-office success in Chinese history.
After 10 days in theaters in China, Age of Extinction, the fourth movie in the franchise, grossed over $220 million, which is about $45 million more than it made in America.
To improve the movie’s chances of success in China, Paramount took a Chinese production company on board as partner, cast actors from China, and even shot scenes locally.
