November 26 , 2014
A rare Shakespeare First Folio was discovered in a French town, according to media reports. The valuable book was lying in a library in the northern Saint-Omer town for some 200 years.
Experts believe it is one of around 230 such books in existence. Eric Rasmussen, a leading authority on William Shakespeare, has confirmed its originality and worth.
Originally, the book is believed to have been 300 pages long, but now about 30 pages, including the title page, are missing. It will be featured in the library’s exhibition next year.
