Seth Meyers to replace Jimmy Fallon as Late Night host

  • Comedian Seth Meyers is to replace Jimmy Fallon as the host of NBC's Late Night after Fallon moves on to host The Tonight Show in 2014.

The Saturday Night Live (SNL) star is the fourth comedian to host the show since its debut in 1982.

Following the announcement, Meyers said on Thursday that he is to remain at SNL, also at NBC, before he begins hosting Late Night in February 2014.

Meyers, 39, has been an SNL cast member since 2001.

He takes over from Fallon as part of a programming shuffle at NBC.

Fallon is to succeed Jay Leno as host of the earlier Tonight Show.
