Rocker annoyed by Miley's grammar
October 16 , 2013
Indie rocker Sufjan Stevens is not annoyed by Miley Cyrus' twerking or her tongue always sticking out of her mouth; instead, he has pointed out Cyrus' grammatical errors in an open letter to her.
Stevens can't get over the lyric, "I've been laying in this bed all night long."
He mentioned that the word should be "lying" and not "laying" since she's not talking about a particular body part but about herself "lying" in this bed.
Stevens also pointed out that Cyrus didn't use Present Perfect Continuous Tense correctly since she forgot to put the "have" between "I" and " been laying."
The rocker is otherwise a fan of Cyrus, who he thinks has a great message and a great body. "Girl, you work it like Mike Tyson," he said. "Miley, I love you because you're the Queen, grammatically and anatomically speaking."
