Portugal's Salvador Sobral Wins Eurovision Song Contest 2017

  • 27 year old Salvador Sobral of Portugal won Eurovision Song Contest 2017, thereby giving Portugal the coveted trophy for the very first time ever.

    Salvador Sobral’s love ballad Amar Pelos Dois (Love for the both of us) was written by his sister Luisa, who also joined him for a duet reprising the song at end of the show.

    The song got a total 758 points, winning top marks from the countries' professional juries as well as the televoters.

    The second and third spots were won by Bulgaria (615 points) and Moldova (374 points) respectively.

    The 2017 contest was held at International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv, Ukraine. Next year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted by Portugal, following Portugal’s victory this year.
