Olivier Awards: 'Sunny Afternoon', 'A View From the Bridge' win in multiple categories

  • ‘Sunny Afternoon’ and ‘A View From the Bridge’ were big winners at the Olivier Awards in London.

    Mark Strong won the best actor award for his role as the tragic hero in Bridge, which may screen at Broadway later. The play also won the best director prize for Ivo Van Hove and the best revival.

    The best actress award went to Penelope Wilton for her performance as the mother of a lawyer sent to jail by the Nazis in ‘Taken at Midnight’.  

    Angela Lansbury, 89, won the best supporting actress award for her role in ‘Blithe Spirit’.
