Manoel de Oliveira, world's oldest filmmaker, dies aged 106

Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira, arguably the world’s oldest filmmaker, has died at the age of 106.
In a career spanning an astonishing eight decades, he directed over 50 films and his last feature film was released in 2012.
Born in 1908, he directed his first film, a documentary, in 1931. His later films included ‘The Convent’ and ‘Belle Toujours’.
In 2008, he was awarded an honorary Palme by the Cannes Film Festival.
