Lady Gaga cancels Indonesia concert
May 28 , 2012
Lady Gaga has cancelled a concert in the Indonesian capital Jakarta due to security concerns.
The flamboyant American pop star was refused a permit after Islamic groups objected to her performances, claiming they were vulgar.
The Indonesian police said they would only issue permits if the singer agreed to tone down her act. Instead, her management decided to pull the plug on the concert, which is part of her Born This Way world tour.
More than 50,000 tickets had been sold for the June 3 event. Promoters said they would offer refunds.
Earlier this month, protests took place in the Philippines with Christian groups accusing Lady Gaga of being blasphemous.
