Julian Assange was MIA's opener

There was a surprise opening act at MIA's latest tour, which began in New York City on Friday.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange skyped from London so he could talk to the audience through video. It was a 10-minute long talk, during which Assange claimed he has "become a fan of MIA" since she's the "most courageous woman working in western music, without exception."
He also discussed privacy and press freedom, in regards to the recent NSA leaks.
