James Horner, Oscar-winning composer of Titanic, dies in plane crash in California

James Horner, the Academy Award-winning composer of the blockbuster “Titanic”, has died in a plane crash in the US.
The 61-year-old was flying a single-engine plane that crashed in Southern California, near Santa Barbara, authorities said. His assistant later confirmed his death on social media.
Horner began composing for concerts before switching to films like “The Lady in Red”. He won an Oscar nomination for his work on “Aliens”, and composed for blockbusters like “Braveheart” and “A Beautiful Mind”.
He won two Oscars for his work on the 1997 film “Titanic”.
