Charge of attempting to procure murder dropped against Phil Rudd
November 7 , 2014
The attempt to obtain murder charge against Phil Rudd, the drummer of the legendary rock band AC/DC, has been dropped — one day after his appearance in a court in New Zealand, according to media reports.
His counsel Paul Mabey said in a statement that the Crown Solicitor Greg Hollister-Jones “had formed the view that there was insufficient evidence to justify that charge” after reviewing the evidence available and the police file.
Rudd, 60, who has been bailed till November 27, had rejoined AC/DC in 1994 after being dropped from the band in 1983.
