British singer Sam Smith cancels Australia tour after suffering vocal cord hemorrhage

  • British soul singer Sam Smith has been forced to cancel his Australian tour after being diagnosed with a hemorrhage to the vocal cords.

    The Grammy-award winner received the health warning while he was touring Australia.

    Apologizing to fans in a message on Instagram, the 22-year-old said that he was “deeply, deeply saddened” about the cancellation, adding that he had been “vocally exhausted” for some time.

    Doctors have told him to “fully rest" until hia vocal chords are healed.

    Smith won four Grammys including the Song of the Year for ‘Stay With Me’ at this year’s awards.
