British singer and songwriter Jackie Trent passes away

  • Jackie Trent, the UK singer and songwriter who wrote the theme of the popular TV series Neighbours, has died aged 74.

    A writer of hits by stars such as Frank Sinatra, Trent died after a long illness. 

    Her song ‘Where Are You Now (My Love)’ as a singer made her a chart-topper in 1965. 

    She went on to work with her former husband Tony Hatch, and together they penned over 400 songs including ‘I Couldn't Live Without Your Love’, which was sung by Petula Clark.
