British Independent Film Awards: Pride named best film

Pride, a movie based on a miners’ strike, won the best film prize at the British Independent Film Awards.
The film, a drama set during a strike in 1984, won three awards, including for Andrew Scott for best supporting actor and Imelda Staunton for best supporting actress.
The best actor award went to Brendan Gleeson for the film Calvary, while Gugu Mbatha-Raw was named best actress for the film Belle, reports said.
