Best-selling Australian author Colleen McCullough passes away

  • Colleen McCullough, the best-selling Australian author, passed away in Norfolk Island on Thursday, 29 January. She was 77 years old.

    She had health problems for the past few years, including loss of sight and painful arthritis, but she continued to write using dictation, reports said.

    Harper Collins Australia described her as among the first Australian writers “to succeed on the world stage”.

    McCullough had penned 25 novels in her career. Her novel ‘The Thorn Birds’ was turned into a popular TV series.
