Woman to rack up $106K in parking tickets

  • A woman has agreed to pay the city of Chicago an amount of $4,500. This sounds like a reasonable sum after learning that the original amount was $106,000.

Jennifer Fitzgerald's ex boyfriend had abandoned the car registered under her name and the vehicle sat in one place for almost three years. The number of tickets piled on numbered 678 in total. The car was eventually towed and Fitzgerald got some legal help and disputed the bill.

She claimed to have no knowledge of the fact that the car was registered under her name and wondered why it hadn't been towed earlier than it eventually was. Fitzgerald's ex boyfriend is supposed to pay more than $1,600 and she will pay off the remaining in monthly installments of $78.
