Vodafone close to signing Middle East roaming deal with Zain

Vodafone is close to signing an agreement with Kuwait-based telecoms operator Zain in a bid to gain access to its Middle East networks, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The deal would cover several and enable Vodafone to offer its customers from other countries lower roaming fees when traveling in the region.
Zain currently has mobile network operating licences in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraq and Jordan. Vodafone's presence in the region is limited to Qatar, Egypt and Libya.
Vodafone has been on the lookout for agreement with local operators to spread its coverage without the financial burden of expensive buyouts or investments.
