Vodafone and Zain sign Middle East deal
September 4 , 2012
Vodafone has signed an agreement with Kuwait-based telecoms operator Zain as it seeks to increase its presence in the Middle East.
The firm stated that under the non-equity partnership agreement it would work with Zain companies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq.
The deal enables it to offer its customers from other countries lower roaming fees when traveling in the region.
In recent months, Vodafone, the world's biggest mobile operator by sales, has signed deals with local operators to spread its coverage without the financial burden of expensive buyouts or investments.
