US: House of Representatives approves Obama's 'fast track' trade plan
June 19 , 2015
A trade bill supported by US President Barack Obama has been approved by the House of Representatives, a week after it was voted down by Democrats.
The ‘fast track’ plan gives the president the authority to negotiate global trade agreements; the Congress cannot change any deal, but only approve or reject it.
The bill will now go to the Senate.
Democrats and US unions are opposed to the bill, saying it will lead to job losses at home.
