The rate of inflation in the UK dropped to 2.4 percent in April, according to the Office for National Statistics on Tuesday.

It is the first time the inflation rate has dropped since September 2012.
Inflation, as measured by the retail prices index (RPI), was down to 2.9 percent in April compared to 3.3 percent the month before.
