The man behind chewy sweets Gummy Bears died at the age of 90 due to heart failure.
Hans Riegel spent about 70 years at a candy company founded by his father in Germany and transformed it into a world famous brand that exported to 100 nations and enjoyed by children as well as adults all over the globe.
Fruit-flavored gummy bears were inspired by the dancing brown bears at cruises and were once known by the name of "dancing bears."
Riegal was the No. 32 richest man in Germany with a net worth of 2.9B.
"I work because it makes me happy, and I have no reason to deny myself that happiness," he said in a 2010 interview.
