Tesla catches fire thrice in six weeks
November 9 , 2013
This is definitely a bad day for Tesla Motors since the company got a bad publicity again.
The Model S caught fire for the third time in a span of six weeks, due to which the company's stock slid about eight percent.
Reports suggest that the fire was caused by the damage due to the undercarriage but the driver was able to escape unhurt.
The director of an auto safety group mentioned that it's absolutely necessary for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to investigate. "It appears there's inadequate shielding on the bottom of these vehicles," he said.
The negative review at Edmunds stated that the vehicle made "an ominous noise under acceleration and deceleration. It originates from the rear of the car and seems to be getting worse."
