Snapchat apologizes and updates app

Snapchat addressed its privacy concerns and made some changes to the app. Users will now have the ability to choose not to have a phone number linked to their usernames.
"Our team continues to make improvements to the Snapchat service to prevent future attempts to abuse our API," Snapchat's website read. "We are sorry for any problems this issue may have caused you and we really appreciate your patience and support."
The startup mentioned that it's newly implemented safeguards have made exploits harder to do. Snapchat will also ask new members to verify their phone numbers before finding friends.
