Pizza Hut GM got fired on Thanksgiving

  • A Pizza Hut general manager wanted to give his workers a day off on Thanksgiving.

Tony Rohr, who worked in Elkhart, Indiana, got fired as a result since his bosses didn't agree and asked him to either stay open or step down.

"I said, 'Why can't we be the company that stands up and says we care about our employees and they can have the day off?'" he said to WSBT.

Rohr worked at the company for a decade and wrote this response: "I do not resign; however, I accept that the refusal to comply with this greedy, immoral request means the end of my tenure with this company."

One of his bosses said Rohr wasn't fired but quit instead. He mentioned that the order to stay open came directly from corporate.
