Pepper-spraying cop awarded $38K

  • The cop who sprayed pepper on several protestors sitting peacefully made profit out of doing so. 

    Former UC Davis police officer John Pike been awarded $38,055, which is more than the $30,000 that each of the victims received. 

    Pike suffered continuous trauma and received over 17,000 emails and about 10,000 after his infamous conduct became viral. 

    He was forced to change his email address, phone number and even his physical address due to the incident.

    A spokesman for US Davis mentioned that the payout "is in line with permanent impairment as calculated by the state's disability evaluation unit."
