PayPal president's credit card information hacked
February 13 , 2014
PayPal President David Marcus said his credit card details were hacked and used for a shopping spree.
He mentioned that the card was most likely "skimmed" at the hotel he stayed at. "They then cloned it and went on a shopping spree," Marcus wrote on Twitter.
The executive also spoke about the EMV chip technology, which he uses in his credit card in order to secure himself. However, it couldn't stop his data from being stolen and misused. He didn't waste this opportunity to praise his company and said PayPal doesn't share any such details with merchants and the breach wouldn't have happened if PayPal had been accepted as a method of payment.
