No compromise on pre-election pledges: Greek PM
February 9 , 2015
Greece’s prime minister Alexis Tsipras has said he would stick to his pre-election promise of rolling back austerity and reject a bailout extension.
He said Greece would seek a bridge loan instead.
A defiant Tsipras, whose far-left Syriza party won the poll in January, said he would re-hire public employees, increase the minimum wage and pay pension bonuses, as promised earlier.
He said the Greek people could no longer cope with the “bailout barbarity”.
