News Corp reports decline in revenue

  • News Corp, the owner of the Wall Street Journal and the Times newspapers, has reported a 3% drop in quarterly sales, as per media reports.

    Its revenue for three months ending June was reported to be $2.2bn, with a net income of $12m.

    A decline was reported in advertising as well as subscription income.  

    Chief executive Robert Thomson said in a statement that the results “highlight the diversification of our portfolio and our cost discipline.”
