New trend to mark the end of vacation days

  • More employers have begun to follow the trend of giving unlimited days off to their employees. This policy is prevalent especially in the Silicon Valley and allows workers to take days off whenever they feel like instead of accumulating and spending vacation days altogether.

Some are referring to it as the "no vacation" policy. The reason being that many employees hesitate to take days off and any time that is not taken off is lost forever instead of getting accumulated.

One study suggests that more than half of the American employees don't use all of their vacation time every year.

At least one employer using unlimited vacation has attempted to solve the issue by awarding $1,000 bonus to those who take at least one off a week.
