Netflix scam steals private documents

  • If you recently clicked on any Netflix tech-support emails, you might have fallen victim to a scam. The Better Business Bureau said con artists sent out phony emails that urged people to call a number for support. Those who ended up making the call had their private documents stolen in a matter of seconds.

"I had set up fake banking sheets on the desktop and they were taken as we were speaking," a computer expert who tested the scam said. The fake site has now been taken down but other scams are still out there.

In order to verify a scam, it's important to beware of popup Web pages and to never let a rep gain complete access to your device.
