Modi effect? India's economy shows fastest growth in two years
August 30 , 2014
Some analysts are calling it the Narendra Modi effect.
The Indian economy grew by 5.7% from April to June, the fastest in more than two years, according to estimates.
Sectors such as gas and water supply, electricity, and financial services contributed to the growth, an official said.
However, the overall sentiment is mixed as prime minister Modi’s government completes 100 days in office, with pro-reform economists and Indian financial markets still waiting for “big-bang” reforms.
