McDonald's, KFC hit by tainted food claims

  • A US-owned meat factory in China has been accused of selling tainted meat to its clients that include McDonald’s, Starbucks, and the brand that owns KFC and Pizza Hut.

Footage aired by a local TV station showed workers using their bare hands to process expired meat in the food plant.

Yum Brands, which owns KFC and Pizza Hut, and McDonald's said they had stopped orders from Shanghai Husi Food, a subsidiary of OSI Group, which is based in Illinois.
