Manufacturing growth in China slows

  • China’s manufacturing growth slowed last month, according to an official survey.

The Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) dropped from 51.1 in September to 50.8 in October, a lower than expected figure.

Earlier data has shown that the Chinese economy is growing at the slowest pace in over five years.

The third quarter growth was 7.3% from a year ago, down from the second quarter growth of 7.5%.

China has introduced measures aimed at stimulating consumer spending.
