Lenovo posts $253 million profit, beats forecasts

  • Lenovo has declared a net profit of $253 million in the last quarter of 2014, better than the analysts’ forecast of $200 million, with sales in the technology group’s smartphone division more than doubling. As per media reports, the firm’s revenues were up by 31% to reach $14.1 billion, higher than the $13.7 billion forecast. Yuanqing Yang, the CEO and chairman of Lenovo, said in a statement that the results reflected the “right strategy” and “right acquisitions” made by the firm.
