Irish airline Ryanair to buy Boeing planes worth $10.4bn

  • It has been reported that Ryanair, the low cost Irish airline, is buying 100 planes from Boeing that are worth $10.4bn.

There is an option of buying another 100 planes later.

The order has been placed for the American aerospace firm’s 737 MAX aircraft, which are more fuel efficient.

Michael O'Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, described the deal as a game-changer for low-fair travel, saying he hoped it would “hasten a new era of price wars in Europe.”
