Hummus may be next in FDA's list

  • It's fairly easy to make hummus, but Sabra, which owns majority of the hummus market in America, has asked the FDA to make sure that hummus is being prepared using actual ingredients.

    Sabra mentioned that the recipe prepared without chickpeas and tahini "destroy the basic nature and essential characteristics of hummus." 

    To be specific, media reports indicate that Sabra wants chickpeas to be definitely included in hummus and for tahini to make up at least 5 percent of the recipe.
