How GM messed up its ignition investigation
April 15 , 2014
GM appears to have gone so wrong in addressing its ignition switch problem due to a snafu over coworker obstruction.
Documents revealed by the House committee suggest that low-level engineer Brian Stouffer attempted to get to the bottom of the problem and encountered a resistance from an engineering division run by Ray DeGiorgio. "Early in the discussion, we got push back from Electrical regarding their need to be involved," Stouffer said.
GM recently recalled another 2.19M models over the same ignition concern and the company mentioned that it had received about "several hundred" complaints.
