HMV chief executive to step down
August 3 , 2012
The chief executive of UK music, films and games retailer HMV is to resign next month.
The company said Trevor Moore, a former boss of camera retailer Jessops, is to replace Simon Fox.
Fox has had to lead HMV during tough trading conditions due to decreasing CD sales in the wake of rising Internet downloads.
During his six-year tenure he has closed stores, increased sales of video games and sold off the Waterstones book chain.
In May, HMV said it was looking to return to profitability next year due to the changes made.
