HMV boss made redundant

  • The chief executive of music and DVD retailer HMV has been made redundant by administrators in charge of restructuring the failing British firm.

Trevor Moore was among 60 people made redundant at HMV's head offices. Moore was previously the head of camera firm Jessops, another British retail casualty.

Administrators Deloitte said the latest cuts in London, Marlow and Solihull had been "a difficult decision, but a necessary one in restructuring the business".

Deloitte added it hopes to sell the business on thought it is likely to become a much smaller retailer.

HMV entered administration last month. The closure of 66 stores across the UK was announced on Thursday, placing the jobs of nearly 1000 employees at risk.
