Greek PM Alexis Tsipras' Moscow visit triggers speculation
April 8 , 2015
Alexis Tsipras, the Greek Prime Minister, is set to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow as Greece battles it debt crisis.
The Greek government is involved in difficult negotiations with international creditors and the EU in a bid to secure a bailout deal.
Speculation that Greece may be looking at Russia as a source of financial aid has increased. However, commentators believe that any substantial help from Moscow is unlikely given Russia’s own financial troubles and the EU sanctions imposed on it.
