French air traffic strike: Easyjet, Ryanair cancel hundreds of flights
April 10 , 2015
Easyjet has been forced to cancel hundreds of flights in Europe because of the two-day strike by air traffic controllers in France.
The airline launched five additional flights to bring back passengers stranded in various parts of Europe.
An Easyjet spokesperson said that the airlines and passengers across the region had suffered “considerable and disproportionate disruption” because of the strike.
Ryanair, another popular low-cost carrier, which cancelled over 500 flights in two days, said that the striking employees were holding “thousands of travelers…to ransom.”
