Food scandal: Slimmer menus at McDonald's in China

  • Customers at McDonald’s restaurants in China had to contend with shortened menus after a scandal-hit supplier issued a recall.

After local television networks showed workers at Husi Shanghai, a subsidiary of the US-based OSI Group, handling tainted and expired meat with their bare hands, Husi halted sales and recalled food processed at its facility in Shanghai.

Major fast food groups such as McDonald’s and Starbucks who got supplies from Husi have been hit.

“We sincerely apologize to customers for the inconvenience and hope to have their understanding,” McDonald’s said in a statement.
