Facebook reports 138% jump in profit

  • Facebook has reported a 138% increase in net income for the second quarter to $791m.  

    Revenue from advertising, which contributes to most of Facebook’s income, was $2.68bn, a jump of 67% from the same period last year. 

    In a statement, the firm’s Chief Executive, Mark Zuckerberg, said there was lot of “opportunity ahead as we connect the rest of the world.”

    Facebook currently has around 1.32 billion active users every month.
