Eurozone interest rate unchanged at 0.75 percent

  • The European Central Bank (ECB) left eurozone interest rates unchanged at 0.75 percent on Thursday.

Rates have remained at this level for six months after July's cut from 1 percent.

Figures released earlier in the week showed that the unemployment rate across the eurozone worsened in November and hit a record high of 11.8 percent.

The United Kingdom’s Bank of England also announced on Thursday that it would keep its main interest rate on hold.
